How to create doc links in Lotus Notes

Document number: 10075

Document links (doc links) give access to information stored in another document in Lotus Notes. The other document may be in the same database, a different database, or even a database on a different server. Adding links in the text field of your documents helps other users easily locate this related information.

If you are creating a doc link, think about whether the intended user has access to the database or document you are linking to. If users do not have access to the database that the document is stored in, the doc link does not work.

Creating a doc link

A doc link in an email message to another Lotus Notes database does not work if you are working offline in Island mode.  For a doc link to another database to work, you must be on the server so that a connection to the other database can be made.
