How to send a text page from Lotus Notes

Document number: 10091

The Lotus Notes pager gateway allows a user to send a text page using Lotus Notes mail. It will send the name of the person who sent the page and any text that is in the Subject: field of a message (up to 240 characters). There are two ways to send a page from Lotus Notes - using a pager alias and using a PIN.

To send a text page from Lotus Notes:

  1. Click the New Memo button to create the message.

  2. Enter either of the following in the To: field of the memo form:

    • Recipient's pager alias: All pager aliases are in the format FirstName LastName Pager. For example, to send to Jane Doe's pager, type Jane Doe Pager in the To: field. For information on how to request a pager alias, see Eureka! document 16024 — How to request pager alias in Lotus Notes.
  3. NOTE: Pager aliases will only work for PeopleSoft issued pagers and if an alias has been created for it.

    • Pager's PIN: The recipient will need to provide the PIN for the pager. An example of a PIN is 8887777@pagenet.

  4. Enter the text of the page into the Subject: field (up to 240 characters).

  5. Click the Send button.

The page will now be routed through the pager service provider to the recipient's pager.
