Transactional Reports display real-time information that runs directly against the live application data. The data displayed in a transactional report is real-time because the data is sourced directly from the production database. The production database is updated every time a user enters and saves a record or entry. nVision is used to run transactional reports.
- From the Customer1 home page, select
Manage Sales, then
Manage Sales Forecast, then
Reports, then
PS/nVision.
- Click on
Search for Report, and select the appropriate report.
- Click on the
Run Report.
The transactional report parameter fields contain default values, which are read only.
Once the Report Request is entered, it becomes a Process Scheduler Request. The Process Scheduler lets the report run immediately, schedules it to run at a later time, or schedules it at regular intervals. To schedule your report:
- Select
Process Scheduler Request.
- Fill in the appropriate fields in the Process Scheduler, as follows:
Server Name for the report to run on. You must leave this line blank.
Recurrence identifies the recurring time intervals for a process request to run. You can leave this blank.
Time Zone in which report is to be scheduled. You can leave this blank.
Run Date specifies the date the report request is to be run. This defaults to the current date of the application server for your convenience.
Run Time specifies the time the report request is to be run. This defaults to the current time of the application server for your convenience.
Reset to Current Date/Time sets the Run Date and Run Time to the present date and time.
Select check box selects the report request to be run.
Type identifies the destination type for this job. Select
Web.
Format defaults to XLS (Excel) for the report type after you select web as the type.
- Click
OK.
- Once the Process Schedule Request is submitted, you can view the status of a Process Scheduler Request by clicking on
Process Monitor. This displays a list of the currently logged requests and the status of those requests.
- When a process has completed successfully, you can access the resulting report by clicking on
Report Manager. Valid statuses are Processing, Scheduled, Generated, Posted, Not Posted, Delete, and Success. Click on
View to see the Report/Log Viewer. From here, click on the report name to open the report.
Note: Only 3 instances (reports) can run at the same time. Therefore if other users are running reports, it may take some time before the status of your report is changed from
queued to
processing.
Many nVision reports run macros before the report opens. Make sure that you always let the macros run.
If it the report does not open after you have waited some time, check for an open Excel message that needs to be closed before the report will continue opening.
