The default PeopleSoft Welcome page in Lotus Notes provides instant access to a user's Inbox, calendar and Planet PeopleSoft. A customized Welcome page may also be created with three to five frames in a variety of layouts. As an alternative, Lotus Notes can launch directly to a specific bookmark instead of the Welcome page.

To create a custom Welcome page:

1. Click the Welcome button on the task bar (house with red roof icon) or open the Favorites bookmark and click the Welcome link.

2. Click the down arrow to the right of PeopleSoft and select Create new page style... from the drop down list.

3. Basics tab:
   
   
   • Give your page a title: Enter a name for the custom page.
   • Layout: Choose a frame layout by clicking the radio button next to the desired format.
     
     

4. Content tab:

   • Select a frame: Click in the frame to be modified.
   • Frame content: Select the frame's new content.
     • If a web address is manually typed, be sure to include http:// at the beginning of the address or the page will not load.
     • Some web pages might not display properly because of how they were designed.

     • Because a connection to the Internet is required for a web page, it may take several minutes for the web page's frame to load.

5. Click OK.

The custom page will now load and appear.

To edit or delete a custom Welcome page:

Note: Default (noncustom) Welcome pages cannot be altered or deleted.

1. Open the Welcome page by clicking the task bar button or by opening the Favorites bookmark folder and clicking the Welcome bookmark.

2. Click the down arrow to the right of the current Welcome page name and select the page that will be edited or deleted.

3. Click the Options... button to the right of the current Welcome page name.

4. Modify the page as desired and click OK or click Delete... to delete the page.

If edited, the modified Welcome page will load and if deleted, another available Welcome page will load.

To launch Lotus Notes to a specific bookmark instead of the Welcome page:

1. Right mouse click on the bookmark that Notes should launch to. The most common are the Inbox and the Workspace (located in the Databases) bookmark folder.

2. Select Set Bookmark as Home Page from the drop down menu.

3. A pop-up window asking or " Set '<Database Name>' as current Home Page?" appears. Click OK.

The bookmark specified as the new home page will now appear as the Welcome page.
