Microsoft Word document disappears after launching hyperlink
The difficulty you are experiencing is that when you double-click on a hyperlink in a Microsoft Word 97 document, Internet Explorer launches and displays the the link, but the document no longer appears in Word. The document does not reappear even after the Internet Explorer window is closed.
To solve this, click the Back button in Internet Explorer.
The Internet Explorer window will close. You will be taken back to the original document in Word.
