Full menu does not show - Office 2000 applications

Document number: 15153

The difficulty you are experiencing is that the menus in your Office 2000 application do not fully expand. You either have to wait for the whole menu to appear or you have to click on a down arrow to view the entire menu. Like Windows 2000, this is the "personalized menu" feature. This feature shows just the last few entries you have used so that your screen does not become cluttered by many unused menu items.

In Office 2000, you can change the settings so that you can see the entire menu when you click on a menu item at the top of the screen. Changing the setting in one of the Office 2000 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) will change the setting for all of the other applications as well. Follow these steps:

    1. Launch the application.

    2. Click on Tools, then on Customize.

    3. Click on the Options tab.

    4. Clear the checkmark in the ox next to Me nus show recently used commands first.

    5. Click Close.

The full menu should now appear in your Office applications.
