Multi-Language spell checker / proofing tools for Office 2000
Note: This package should only be loaded on Windows 2000 machines running Office 2000.
Currently, PeopleSoft machines have English proofing tools for spellchecking Word 2000 documents. Other languages are available, but you must load the proofing tools manually. Follow these steps:
Close all Microsoft office applications.
If you don't have the Software Library bookmark see document 16250 — How to add the Software Library database link to Lotus Notes for instructions on installing the Software library bookmark.
Click the Standard Software Package Installs icon.
Scroll until you see the entry Microsoft Office - All versions and double click on it to open it.
Scroll down to the button labeled Multi-Language Proofing Tools and click on it.
After a few moments (please be patient - it may be a little while), Windows Installer screen will launch and then a "Welcome to Proofing Tools" screen appears. You may fill in missing information if you wish; then click Next>>.
The "Microsoft Proofing Tools Disc 1 End-User License Agreement" screen appears. Click on the radio button next to I accept the terms in the License Agreement so that a dot appears in the radio button. Click Next>>.
The "Microsoft Proofing Tools Disk 1 Installation Location" screen appears. Accept the default location of c:\apps\office 2000 and click Next>>.
Run installation the first time the proofing tool is used:

To deselect a language, click on the down arrow next to the computer image of the language you do not wish and choose "Not Available" (the red "X" - see choice circled in red in the image below). A red "X" should now appear next to that choice. Note: Once you deselect a language, you will not be able to install it at a future date.
It may take a while for the package(s) to load.
Follow the onscreen instructions. If you are not prompted, please reboot your machine once the installation completes.
