The difficulty you are experiencing is that when you copy or cut and paste from one Microsoft Word document to another, the pasted text is underlined and you cannot remove the underlining.

To solve this, try one of the two steps below until the underlining no longer occurs.

STEP ONE - Turn off the Track Changes function in the target Microsoft Word document

Note: If the target document (the one to which you are trying to paste) is not owned by you, you should check with the owner of the document to make sure that you may turn off the Track Changes function of the document.

1. In the document to which you are pasting material, click on the Tools menu, then on Track Changes, and then Highlight Changes...

2. When the Highlight Changes screen appears, make sure no checkmark appears in any of the boxes.

3. Click OK.

When you paste more material into that document, the underlining should no longer appear.

 

STEP TWO - Turn off the Protection function in the target Microsoft Word document

Note: If the target document (the one to which you are trying to paste) is not owned by you, you should check with the owner of the document to make sure that you may unprotect the document.

In the document to which you are pasting material, click on the Tools menu, then on Un protect Document. If this option does not appear on the Tools menu, the document is not protected (if the document is currently unprotected, you will see only a " Protect document" choice on that menu.)

When you paste more material into that document, the underlining should no longer appear.
