Entering Languages in Competency Management
The required information fields are identified by an asterisk ("*").
Your manager does not have to approve your language details, but when you save the information, your manager will receive an email notifying him or her that you have made a change. To enter a language, follow these steps:
For more detailed steps on logging in, see Eureka! document 15202 — How to log into Competency Management.
From the Tasks list, click on Languages .
If you already have a language entered and would like to add another, click on the Add a Language button.
If your language does not appear, consult with your manager so that the manager can determine if the language is one that should be included in the database . If the manager thinks that the language needs to be included, the manager can submit a request through PGS Operations to have it reviewed for approval. In the meantime, do not save any information for that language. For more information about the request, see Eureka! document 15211 — Request for addition to Competency Management database.
Choose ratings for your Speaking Proficiency, Reading Proficiency, and Writing Proficiency. You can have different levels for each of these items.
Indicate whether the language is your native language.
If the language you are entering IS your native language, choose Yes in this field.
Indicate whether you can teach in the language you are entering.
Click on the Save button.
Your Language information has been entered and saved.
