Warning! This version of Norton Speed Disk ... not ... tested with ... Service Pack

Note: There is a similar error or warning that may appear. (Click on the following icon for a screenshot of the message .) If that message is the one you are seeing, see Eureka! document 25076 — ERROR: Speed Disk is designed to run with Windows 2000... service pack 3 or later... for a resolution.

The following message is not as serious as it sounds (screenshot below):

Warning: This version of Norton Speed Disk has not been tested with the Service Pack that is installed on your computer. You should run LiveUpdate to see if an updated version of Speed Disk is available.

Canceling the message still allows Norton Speed Disk to run, but please read the following first:

To make the message not appear any more, please do the following:

  1. Click in the box next to the prompt for Do not show this warning again.
    • If you already closed that screen, that is fine. You can click the box the next time the warning appears.

  2. Launch Norton Speed Disk.
    • Start menu, then Programs, then Norton Speed Disk, and Norton Speed Disk.

  3. Click on the File menu, then on LiveUpdate Norton Speed Disk...

  4. Follow the onscreen instructions.

  5. If you need an update, you will receive one. Alternatively, you may receive a screen that says
  6. Thank you for using LiveUpdate

    All of the Symantec products installed on your computer are
    currently up to date. Please check for new updates again in the
    future.

  7. Click Finish when the process is complete.
