How to change the schedule for Norton Speed Disk
By default, Norton Speed Disk is scheduled to run on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 12 noon, machine time. You may experience performance slowdowns at those times (see Eureka! document 15007 — Slow performance while Norton Speed Disk runs.)
Your machine must be powered up for the process to run. Once the process begins, do NOT interrupt it. Doing so may result in boot errors on your machine.
If the process runs at a time that is inconvenient to your working schedule, you can reschedule when Norton Speed Disk runs. To reschedule the process to a more convenient time, follow these steps:
When the process is NOT running, launch Norton Speed Disk by clicking on the Start menu, then on Programs, then Norton Speed Disk, and finally Norton Speed Disk. The Norton Speed Disk screen appears.
Generally, you want the entire process to run, so do not specify a Stop Time.
Once you have chosen a day and time, you may click Apply to invoke the new schedule.
Your Norton Speed Disk process should run as you have scheduled.
