The difficulty you are experiencing is that when you try to enter a Group Modification in NorthStar web, you are continually returned to the Planet login screen, even after you enter the correct name and password.

The short-term workaround: Log into Planet first, and then launch NorthStar web from Planet Navigator (Applications, Tech Support (NorthStar).)

The long-term fix: If you are using a personal shortcut or a Favorite to get to NorthStar on the web, you will need to change the information for the shortcut or Favorite. Click one of the following:

Changing the Favorite

To change the link from Internet Explorer Favorites:

1. Launch Internet Explorer.

2. Click on the Favorites menu.

3. Navigate to the NorthStar link and right-click on it.

4. Choose Properties.

5. On the Web Document tab, in the URL field, type in (or copy and paste) the following: http://northstar.peoplesoft.com/

6. Click OK.

The Favorite should launch NorthStar web and you should be able to successfully launch Group Modification from NorthStar.

Changing the shortcut

Whether the shortcut is on your windows Quick Launch bar or your windows desktop, the steps are the same:

1. Right-click on the shortcut.

2. Choose Properties.

3. On the Shortcuts tab, in the Target field, type in (or copy and paste) the following (including the quotation marks): " C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" http://northstar.peoplesoft.com

4. Click OK.

The shortcut should launch NorthStar web and you should be able to successfully launch Group Modification from NorthStar.
