First, make sure that you have the Gallery toolbar turned on. The Gallery toolbar button to turn on the Gallery toolbar is depressed. The button is right below your menu bar and looks like this: . If that does not resolve the issue, try the next resolution:

 

When adding some of the other toolbars, such as the Orientation toolbar, the Gallery toolbar may resize to the left side of the screen. To expand the Gallery bar, position your mouse over the toolbar divider to the left of the Orientation toolbar until you get a double-headed arrow:

Then pull the divider to the right.

The Gallery toolbar should reappear. You may still need to resize the toolbars. Toggling the Orientation toolbar can be helpful in this process.
