Add a task to the workspace that already exists in the model (not creating a new one) (Document 15340)

Adding a single task

To add a task, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the task icon Process Modeler - Task icon on the Object Creation Toolbar (see Eureka! document 15334 — Toolbars in Process Modeler).
    • You must click on the task icon for EACH task you wish to add. Once you add a task, your cursor will return to its default shape.

  2. Move your mouse to your on your workspace. Your cursor will change to a pointer and a small rectangle: Process Modeler - Task cursor.

  3. With your mouse cursor still in that shape, double-click on the workspace area.

  4. The Add or Select Object screen appears: Process Modeler - Add task.

  5. Enter a name in the blank field for the new task.

  6. Click OK.

  7. The task appears in your diagram, with a pushpin icon at the bottom of it: Process Modeler - New task

  8. Move the task into a swim lane on your model. The pushpin will no longer appear.
    • If the task is already in the location you desire, you need to move the task just a little to get rid of the pushpin icon.
    • In order to anchor your objects (thus, removing the pushpin icon), your workspace must have at least one swim lane. The swim lane helps you to identify who is responsible for the tasks listed.

A new task has been added where you specified. If you later wish to rename the task, see Eureka! document 15341 — Renaming an object in Process Modeler.
