How to automatically remove meeting invitations from the Inbox after responding

Document number: 16050

In Lotus Notes, once a meeting invitation is accepted, the default is that the meeting will be placed on the calendar and the invitation will remain in the Inbox. If the invitation is then deleted from the Inbox, it will also be removed from the calendar. It is strongly recommended that the preference to remove meeting invitations from the Inbox once they have been responded to be set.

To automatically remove meeting invitations from the Inbox once they have been responded to:

  1. Open the Lotus Notes calendar.

  2. Click the Tools button and select Preferences... from the drop down list.

  3. Click the Autoprocess tab.

  4. Click in the box next to Remove Invitations from my Inbox after I respond to them so that an "x" appears.

  5. Click OK.

Invitations that have been responded to will now automatically be removed from the Inbox. The corresponding meeting entries for accepted invitations will remain on the calendar.

If this preference is set and a broadcast invitation is received (an invitation that does not require a response), the invitation will be removed from the Inbox after it is added to the calendar.
