Events show in Lotus Notes calendar for one additional day

Document number: 16077

If an event in the Lotus Notes calendar appears on the scheduled day(s) as well as one additional day, the Daylight Savings Time setting for theLotus Notes client needs to be changed.  If the Daylight Savings Time setting does not match the home/mail server setting, all events created will always have the additional day created as well.

Setting the Daylight Savings Time setting on the Lotus Notes workspace

If the home/mail server is one of the servers listed below, the Daylight Savings Time setting should not be selected for the Lotus Notes client:

  • Singapore
  • Perth
  • Japan

If events continue to appear on one additional day after verifying or editing the Daylight Savings Time setting and then exiting out of and reopening Lotus Notes, contact Technical Support Operations so the issue can be escalated to Notes Administration for further assistance.

To verify or set the Daylight Savings Time setting on the Lotus Notes workspace:

  1. Select File from the menu bar in your Lotus Notes workspace.

  2. Select Mobile from the drop down menu.

  3. Select Edit Current Time/Phone... from the next drop down menu.

  4. Click the down arrowin the Time zone: field and select the time zone that you are in.

  5. Click the box to add a check mark next to Observe daylight savings time in this location if you do observe daylight savings time.  If a check mark already shows in the box, the time is already set to automatically change when daylight savings time begins or ends.

  6. Edit the time in the Ti me: field.   Be sure to include AM or PM after the time so the date on the calendar changes properly.

  7. Once you have verified or edited all of the fields that apply to your location, click OK.

Exit Lotus Notes by selecting File from the menu bar and E xit Notes from the drop down menu and then reopen Lotus Notes.  The problem is now resolved and events should now only be listed for the day(s) that they are scheduled to occur.

If events continue to appear on one additional day after verifying or editing the Daylight Savings Time setting and then exiting out of and reopening Lotus Notes, contact Technical Support Operations for further assistance.
