Outgoing mail message when opening Lotus Notes
When opening Lotus Notes, the message "You have outgoing mail pending. Do you want to transfer it now?" is received because there is a document or documents in the local outgoing mailbox which has not yet been sent. To resolve this issue, the messages must either be sent or deleted from the outgoing mailbox after it is added to the workspace.
Once all documents have been deleted or sent from the local outgoing mailbox, you should no longer encounter the "You have outgoing mail pending. Do you want to transfer it now?" message when opening Lotus Notes.
To add the local mailbox to the workspace and view the pending document headers:
Select File from the menu bar.
Select Database from the drop down list and select Open... from the next drop down list.
Leave the Server: field set to Local.
Type mail.box in the Filename: field.
Click Open to view the headers of the pending documents which need to be sent or deleted.
Press the {Esc} key when the About Mail Router Mailbox document appears. The document headers are now visible.
Only the document headers will be visible. To see the document contents before deleting or sending them, they will need to be copied into the mail file. For information on how to copy the documents to the mail file, click here.
Select the documents to be deleted by clicking in the column to the left of the documents so that a check mark appears. Click the Delete Message button and the messages will be deleted.
