The default for the importance of a message is "Normal" which means that it will appear in the recipient's mail file as a standard message in the Inbox. The other options available are "Low" and "High." If "High" is selected, an exclamation point appears next to the sender's name in the Inbox when the message is received. If "Low" is selected, the message will appear the same as the default, "Normal."

To change a message to High importance:

1. Create the new message.

2. Click the Delivery Options... button prior to sending the message.

3. Click the down arrow next to Normal in the Importance: field.

4. Single click on High to select it.

5. Click OK.

The message will be sent with high importance and will appear with an exclamation point next to the sender's name in the recipient's Inbox.
