How to change the type-ahead search in Lotus Notes
The default for type-ahead when addressing outgoing messages in Lotus Notes is to search the Personal Address Book and then the PeopleSoft Directory. It is also set to stop after it finds the first match. This could cause issues if you have a PeopleSoft employee or contractor in your Personal Address Book with a different (personal) e-mail address.
Example: Trudy Test is a PeopleSoft employee so her name is in the PeopleSoft Directory. You have an entry for her in your Personal Address Book with her Yahoo! e-mail address. When trying to send her a message, it automatically sends to her Yahoo! e-mail account as type-ahead searches your Personal Address Book first and stops after the first match (the entry with the Yahoo! address).
To change the default so that both the Personal Address Book and the PeopleSoft Directory are searched so that you can select which name to send to:
Select F ile from the menu bar.
Select M obile from the drop down list and select E dit Current Location... from the next drop down list.
Click the Mail tab.
Recipient name lookup: Click the down arrow and single click on Exhaustively check all address books. Click OK.
Click the Save and Close button.
The change will now be saved. When addressing future messages, type-ahead will check all address books for a match and give an option for which name to select when duplicates are found.
