How to add the sender of a message to the Personal Address Book
The sender of a message can be added directly to the Personal Address Book in Lotus Notes. The basic entry information will be created based on whether the message was received internally or if it came from an external source.
Note: If an entry already exists for a specific sender's name, the existing entry can be updated, but a new entry with the same name cannot be created.
To add a sender to the Personal Address Book:
Single click on the message that was sent by the person you want to add to the Personal Address Book so that it is selected. Do not open the message.
Click the Tools button from the action button bar and select Add Sender to Address Book from the drop down list.
Make any changes desired on the Basics or Advanced tab.
Note: Do not modify the Mail system information and only make changes to the EMail address if something must be edited.
If an entry for that name already exists in the Personal Address Book, a message will appear at the top of the Add sender to address book window that says " This entry is already in your addressbook."
Update: The existing entry will be updated with the information in the Add sender to address book window. Be sure to update all information that needs updating before clicking OK.
The sender's name and e-mail information will now appear in the Personal Address Book.
