Managers will be able to change the supervisor of employees using Job Change Application within Manager Self Service.  Managers will only use this action when the supervisor information is changing but is not related to a transfer or promotion. 

This action will only change the reporting manager of an employee.  It will not change the department assignment.  For more information on Transfers for employees see Eureka! Document 17055 — Internal Transfer Information.

To Change Reporting Manager:

1. Log onto Planet PeopleSoft.  For more information, see Eureka! Document 15270 — How to log on to Planet PeopleSoft.

2. Locate the Planet Navigator on the left hand side of your Planet page

3. Click on Applications to see a list of available applications.  Access to the applications listed are role based.  If you do not have access to applications that you need you must submit a NorthStar ticket. 

4. Click on Human Resources Self-Service (HRMS). 

5. Select Self Service > Manager > Task > Reporting Change.

6. Indicate the effective date of the change in the Date Change Will Take Effect field, then click Go.

7. You will be presented with a list of direct report employees.  Check the box by the Name of the appropriate employee. 

8. Click Continue.

9. In the Action/Reason field, select either Managers Request, Promotion, Transfer. Only select Promotion or Transfer if the previous promotion or transfer has occurred without a request to change the reporting manager. All changes resulting from an internal restructuring should be made using Managers Request.

10. In the Supervisor ID field enter the ID number for the new supervisor.  You can use the search icon to find this information.

11. Verify the information is correct and click on Submit.  

12. You will see a list of approvers, click OK.
