When I run my query I receive an error message.

Running Query's via the Internet Architecture is different. When a user enters his/her query name within the Query Manager, they should select the "Run" hyperlink at the right of the line. Most users would want to click on the query name itself. If you click on the query name directly, it will result in the error above.

Why don't I have past expense information in any of my Expense type reports?

Time and Expense and Resource Management data were not converted.

Why does the report I ran out of FSPRD seem to be cut off on the side when I print it?

This happens sometimes when a user runs the report and the output format is HTM. Try to run your report again but choose PDF as the output format.
Note: There are some reports that must be run in a specific format. It will be hard coded within the report and the user will not be able to choose a different format

I'm trying to run a query that I know exists and ran while doing the testing for Psynergy/FSCM but it doesn't seem to exist anymore. Why?

Users can only run queries containing tables that they have access to. If you can't see the record name or the query any more, it could be because you don't have the appropriate Query Access Group that contains that record. This becomes a Security settings issue. To resolve this you will need to log a NorthStart ticket. For more information on how to do this, see Eureka! Document 70001 — How to Log a NorthStar Ticket.

I ran an nVision report and the Process Monitor indicated "Success" but I can't see the report in the Report Manager. Why?

Just because the Process Monitor indicates "Success" doesn't mean a report was generated. It means that the process didn't fail. Look at the Report Request and make sure the Type is "Web". If it says "File", the resulting report went to the directory path indicated on the Report Request or if blank, it went to the path indicated in the Configuration Manager. In the Process Monitor you can check the Details and then the Message Log to be sure there wasn't an error with a severity code. (If a severity code, then no report produced. If no severity code, just an issue with the run but a report should result.)

How do I ensure my report is in the format I want and going to the destination I want?

When running a Report Book, it's a good idea to click on the VIEW button for any of the Report Requests you want to run to see if the last person that ran the report changed the report destination. Also, you should make sure that the checkbox is checked for the report(s) you want to run. You can also indicate the type and format on the Run Control after you click RUN. Normally the type and format would be left at "Default" and will go to the Report Request to get that information, but you can override it here if you want to.

When I run an nVision report the Process Monitor message is "File Not Found" What does this mean?

It means that the layout name in the Report Request was either typed incorrectly or the layout is not in the directory the Process Scheduler is pointing to. The Process Scheduler will point to the production file structure. Some Super Users will have the ability to create and modify nVision layouts but can only save them on a special finance share drive. Those Super Users can only run them through their client software since running nVision through PIA will look to the file directory on the Process Scheduler, which is production and not the finance share drive.

What is the difference between a Report Book and a Report Request?

A Report Request is what nVision uses to bring a layout, a scope(optional) and business unit(s) together to pull data from the database (usually ledger data) for a specific period of time.

A ReportBook is a group of Report Requests that run sequentially on the Process Scheduler server at the time the user specifies. It is recommended to use the ReportBook functionality because this page has hyperlinks to the Process Monitor and the Report Request, where the Report Request page doesn't. It's a matter of preference, but much easier in the long run. Additionally, when querying the message log in the Process Monitor, the ReportBook shows the status of each report in the book by Request ID. You won't see this if you just run a Report Request.

I had access to the Query tool in RVDB but not in Psynergy/FSCM. Now that we are loading Time and Expense information into Psynergy/FSCM, shouldn't I have access to the Query tool in Psynergy/FSCM?

Because RVDB is still in production, you will still have access to the Query tool as well as your existing queries. There is a weekly refresh of Time data from Psynergy/FSCM into RVDB that occurs every Sunday at 12:00pm Pacific time and Expense data from Psynergy/FSCM into RVDB semi-weekly on Friday and Monday. There fore, your existing RVDB queries will still provided the same data you currently obtain. You will, however, need to be cognizant of the day and time that you run your query since the upload happens at spcific times.

If I don't have access to the Query tool in Psynergy/FSCM now, will I have access to the Query tool when RVDB goes away?

The Reporting and Analytics team developed an Information Access process that defines the following roles and their access to the Query tool:

  1. A Super User has the ability to create/modify Public or Private queries through the client software or PIA.
  2. An Enhanced User can only run existing Publick queries through PIA.
  3. A Standard User does NOT have any access to the Query tool.

In the first release of Psynergy/FSCM, R&A defined the Super and Enhanced users from the old FSDB system. Even though the Time & Expense modules were included in the first release, since there is a refresh of Time & Expense data from Psynergy/FSCM back into RVDB, RVDB query users were not addressed. In the second release of Psynergy/FSCM, which replaces RVDB, from the RVDB list of query users, R&A will define another group of Super and Enhanced users. Therefore, just because you may not have access to queries now in Psynergy/FSCM does not mean that you will not have access to queries after Release 2.

My Crystal report will not print.

If you are using Internet Explorer 5.5 and Acrobat 4.0, you may not be able to print Crystal reports that are submitted as PDF output. Usually you can view the PDF on line but when printing, only the graphics appear with an error message " ERROR: nocurrentpoint OFFENDING COMMAND: currentpoint STACK: dictionary - savelevel - savelevel - savelevel".

To resolve this error, you will need to re-run the report and choose DOC as the output format.
