How to cancel a class

Document number: 18037

If you are unable to attend a class you registered for through PeopleSoft University, please keep in mind that there is a 10 weekday cancellation policy (you must cancel your course 10 weekdays prior to the date of the course).

To cancel a class you have already enrolled for, prior to the 10 weekday limitation, please use the following procedure:

  1. Log in to EdWeb. For more information on how to logon see Eureka! document 18031- How to log in to EdWeb.

  2. Click on the Training History link on the left side of the page.

  3. Click on the course session you wish to drop.

  4. Click the Drop button.

This will successfully un-enroll you from the selected class. Upon successful cancellation of a class you had registered for, you will receive an automated reply via your PeopleSoft e-mail address. This e-mail message will specify for which class(es) you have successfully dropped.

If you need to cancel a class after the 10 weekday limitation, see Substituting another student.

Substituting another student

If you are unable to cancel your PeopleSoft University course 10 weekdays prior to the start date, please send e-mail to Erin Speakman. Be sure to include the date of the PSU course that you can't attend. Erin will provide you with names of PeopleSoft employees on the PSU wait list.

It is your responsibility to contact these individuals, and offer them your seat. Once you find a replacement, do the following:

  1. Log in to EdWeb.

  2. Click on the Training History link on the left side of the screen.

  3. Click on the course session.

  4. Click the Substitute button.

  5. Enter in the name of the person who has agreed to take your place in the course.

  6. You will both receive an e-mail confirmation of the substitution.

If you are unable to find a replacement, your department will be charged a cancellation/no-show fee of $450 per unit. (For example, a Payroll class is 3 units @ $450/unit for a total of $1350.) The majority of classes have a unit number equivalent to the number of days the course runs. The number of units is posted next to the class in the schedule.
