Logging in to Documentum

This document describes the log in process for Documentum. These instructions assume that you have already installed the Documentum Desktop Client and requested access to the appropriate Documentum docbase. You can connect to one or more Documentum docbases from Windows Explorer, using Desktop Client or from an integrated Microsoft Office application (also referred to as Integrations). To log in using Windows Explorer:

  1. Open Windows Explorer and click the plus sign next to the Documentum icon.

  2. When prompted, enter your User Name. It is case sensitive and must be entered in lowercase letters.

  3. Click Docbases to view the available docbases.

  4. To open a docbase, double-click the desired docbase.

  5. When prompted, enter your User Name. It is case sensitive and must be entered in lowercase letters.

  6. Your User Name is the same as your Network ID. It is usually your first initial and the first seven letters of your last name. Legacy J.D. Edwards users: it is your initials and your JDE address book number.

  7. Enter your Password. This is the same as your network password, and is also case sensitive.

  8. Click Log On.

 

 


Logging in using Documentum Desktop Client

  1. Double-click the Documentum icon on your desktop.

  2. Double-click Docbases to view the available docbases.

  3. To open a docbase, double-click the desired docbase.

  4. When prompted, enter your User Name. It is case sensitive and must be entered in lowercase letters.

  5. Your User Name is the same as your Network ID. It is usually your first initial and the first seven letters of your last name. Legacy J.D. Edwards users: this is your initials and your JDE address book number.

  6. Enter your Password. This is the same as your network password, and is also case sensitive.

  7. Click Log On.

This procedure will start the Documentum program and log you in to the document management system.

Logging in from an integrated Microsoft Office application

  1. From an integrated Microsoft Office application, such as Word, click the File menu.

  2. Select the desired action, for example, Check In to Docbase.

  3. When prompted, select the appropriate Docbase and enter your User Name. It is case sensitive and must be entered in lowercase letters.

  4. Your User Name is the same as your Network ID. It is usually your first initial and the first seven letters of your last name. Legacy J.D. Edwards users: this is your initials and your JDE address book number.

  5. Enter your Password. This is the same as your network password, and is also case sensitive.

  6. Click Log On.
