How to change Internet Explorer cookie settings
Many of our internal applications require that Microsoft Internet Explorer accept cookies. Make sure your settings are correctly set for the PeopleSoft environment.
Check settings for Internet Explorer 5. x
Check settings for Internet Explorer 6. x
To make sure your cookies settings are correct in Internet Explorer 6. x.
With Internet Explorer (IE) open navigate to the web page that has the cookies you want Internet Explorer to accept.
Select Tools from the menu bar .
Select Internet Options ....
Click the Privacy tab.
The Settings should say " Medium"
If it does not say " Medium" then move the slider bar until it does.
Click on Apply then OK to close.
When you visit an Internet site you may get a message that cookies are required. Instead of changing your overall settings add the particular site to a list of accepted sites.
To make the browser accept the cookie in the future:


These steps add the site to the Managed Web sites list with a setting of Always Allow. Cookies will no longer be blocked from the selected domain.
Open Internet Explorer.
You will need the correct direct URL for the site - not through a frame or portal.
If you don't know the direct address try this:
Put your cursor on the link leading to the target page
Right click the link.
Select Properties.
To copy the link information from the address field that appears roughly in the middle of the properties box.
Right-click the address
Choose Select all
Right-click again
Choose Copy
Or try this:
With the target page showing in the frame, click once on the target page.
Right click the target page.
Select Properties.
Copy the link information from the address field that appears roughly in the middle of the properties box.
Select T ools from the menu bar and select Internet Options... from the drop down menu.
Click the Privacy tab.
Select Edit.
In the Address of Web Site box enter the URL (address) of the web site
Click Allow.
These steps add the site to the Managed Web sites list with a setting of Always Allow.
To make sure your cookies settings are correct in Internet Explorer 5. x.
With Internet Explorer (IE) open, select Tools from the menu bar .
Select Internet Options ....
Click on the Security tab from the Internet Options window.
Under "Select a Web content zone to specifiy its security settings." Click on the Local internet icon.
Click on Default Level to ensure that all settings begin at the appropriate security level. If Default Level is greyed out then the settings are already on default, continue to the next step.
Click on C ustom Level...
Under Cookies make sure the following settings are selected
Allow cookies that are stored on your computer - Enable
Allow per-session cookies (not stored) - Enable
Click OK.
