Engaging a contingent worker process overview
Below is an overview of the process for bringing in a contingent worker. Click the documents referenced below for detailed information on performing each task.
Enter a requisition for services in eProcurement. For detailed information on how to enter a requisition see Eureka! document 18147 — Entering a New Requisition for Services.
After the requisition has been approved, you will need to add the contingent worker in HRMS. This will generate the contingent worker's ID (which will be a T followed by 5 digits, e.g., T12345). Once the contingent worker has been entered in HRMS, the worker's sponsor (supervisor) will receive an email notification containing the worker's ID. See Eureka! document 18162 — Entering a contingent worker in HRMS for more information.
Note: It may take up to 72 hours to enter the contingent worker's information in HRMS and generate an ID. You will not be able to order assets for the worker without this ID. Failure to complete the HRMS forms promptly could delay the worker's system access and equipment.
Submit a NorthStar ticket requesting system accounts and equipment for the contingent worker. Include the contingent worker's HRMS generated ID (e.g., T12345) in the NorthStar ticket. See Eureka! document 15382 — Manage Workforce feature in NorthStar web for detailed information.
