The following Vantive and Lotus Notes error messages most often occur because a user is trying to access a Lotus Notes database that they currently do not have access to:
-
"Error
xxxx Line
xxx Unable to find Document Window"
where
xxxx is a number.
-
"You are not authorized to perform that operation"
-
"You are not authorized to access this database"
-
"Database is not fully initialized yet (it does not contain any views). You will have to use "Replicate..." on the 'File, Replication' menu to initialize it."
In most situations, a user must contact a database manager in order to be added to the Access Control List of a Lotus Notes database. The manager determines which individuals and groups should have access to the database and at what level. For information on determining the name of a database manager, see Eureka! document
12031 — How to get access to a Lotus Notes database.
There are a few other situations that a user may receive the error:
-
Trying to set mail file/calendar preferences or giving someone access to their calendar: Contact Technical Support Operations
so that the issue can be escalated to a Notes Administrator for resolution.
-
Forwarding an e-mail message after switching Lotus Notes ID's: A separate location document should be set up for the new ID. For additional information, see Eureka! document
16120 — How to use multiple Lotus Notes ID's on a single machine.
-
