ERROR: You are not authorized to delete documents in this database
The Lotus Notes error message You are not authorized to delete documents in this database indicates you do not have high enough access rights to the database.
Click here if the problem occurs with your mail file.
Click here if the problem occurs with any other database besides your mail file.
If the problem occurs with your mail file, follow these steps to resolve the error:
Right-click your mail icon and select Access Control...
From the People, Servers, G roups: drop-down list, select Show All and highlight your name in the list below.
Place a check mark in the Dele t e documents check box.
Click O K to save your changes.
You should no longer encounter the error.

Right-click the database icon and select Access Control...
From the People, Servers, G roups: drop-down list, select Show All. In the list below, highlight your name or the name of the group to which you belong.
Place a check mark in the Dele t e documents check box.
Click O K to save your changes.
If the Dele t e documents check box is grayed out, contact the database manager and request that you be given authority to delete documents. To determine the database manager:
Right-click the database icon and select Access Control...
From the People, Servers, G roups: drop-down list, select Manager.
From the list, select an individual's name to send an email.
Click O K to exit.
You should no longer encounter the error.
