Compile error in hidden module: DistMon

indicate a problem caused by certain Adobe PDF Maker files on your PeopleSoft machine. If you move the files to another location, the error should no longer occur. To find and move the files, follow these steps:

  1. Close down any Microsoft Applications you have open.

  2. Launch My Computer.

  3. Look for the file pdfmaker.dot.
    • Navigate to c:\Apps\Office2000\Startup.
    • Look for the file pdfmaker.dot in that directory.
      • If the file is not in that directory, navigate to c:\Documents and Settings\ yournetworkname\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP and look there.
      • If the file is NOT in either of those folders, click Start, then Sear ch, then For Files or Folders... and search for that file on your hard drive.
        • If you still cannot find the file, contact Technical Support Operations for assistance.
    • When you find the file, right-click on it and choose Cu t.
    • Navigate to c:\User\My Documents. Right-click on the My Documents folder and choose Paste.

  4. Look for the file pdfmaker.xla. This file may not be on your hard drive. In that case, you can skip this step.
    • Navigate to c:\Apps\Office2000\XLStart.
    • Look for the file pdfmaker.xla in that directory.
      • If the file is not in that directory, navigate to c:\Documents and Settings\ yournetworkname\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLStart and look there.
      • If the file is NOT in either of those folders, click Start, then Sear ch, then For Files or Folders... and search for that file on your hard drive.
        • This file may not be on your hard drive. In that case, you can skip this step.
    • If you find the file, right-click on it and choose Cu t.
    • Navigate to c:\User\My Documents. Right-click on the My Documents folder and choose Paste.

The error should no longer appear when you launch Microsoft Word or Excel.

Once you move the files from those startup folders, you will no longer see the Adobe PDFMaker icons in Word or Excel. You can create PDFs by clicking on File, Print, and choosing Acrobat Distiller from the Name: field. Click OK and follow the onscreen instructions.
