ERROR: Filename could not be found... Document name or path...not valid
The following errors can occur if a file has been moved from one location to another:
Microsoft Word:
The document name or path is not valid. Try these suggestions:
* Check the file permissions for the document or drive
* Use the File Open dialog box to locate the document.
(
filename)
Microsoft Excel:
'
Filename' could not be found. Check the spelling of the file name, and verify that the file location is correct.
If you are trying to open the file from your list of most recently used files on the File menu, make sure that the file has not been renamed, moved, or deleted.
To resolve this issue, try the following:
Click on the File menu then on O pen... Then navigate to the file's location manually. The file is probably in a different location than shown on the bottom of the File menu.
If the file is on a network drive, make sure that the drive is properly mapped on your machine and accessible (click on a file name on that mapped drive to see if you can access it).
Legacy J.D. Edwards employees: When the Connected software was installed on your machine, remember that your files might have been moved to another location on your c: drive. Try looking in c:\user\my documents\files1, c:\user\my documents\files2, or c:\user\my documents\files3. See Eureka! document 15385 — Connected software installation for legacy J.D. Edwards employees.
