ERROR: Error 429 - ActiveX Component Can't Create Object
The Internet Explorer error messages " ActiveX component not correctly registered," " ActiveX component not found," " ActiveX component did not run correctly," " ActiveX control specified not found," or " ActiveX component can't create object or return reference to this object" generally occurs when attempting to automate an ActiveX server created with Visual Basic such as PSVer, PrintMapper, etc.
If the problem is occuring when you are using Internet Explorer clear your browser cache and reboot. See Eureka! document 16093 — How to clear the cache in Internet Explorer.
If the problem continues, try reinstalling the VB Runtime files from the Software Library in Lotus Notes.
To install VB Runtime files from the Software Library in Lotus Notes:
Open Lotus Notes, then open the Software Library by clicking the bookmark link.
You may need to look in your databases folder
for the Software library bookmark

If you don't have the Software Library bookmark see document 16250 — How to add the Software Library database link to Lotus Notes for instructions on installing the Software library bookmark.
Click the Standard Software Package Installs icon.
Click By Package Name. This view will probably already be showing as it is the default view.
Scroll until you see the entry Visual Basic Runtime Files and double click on it to open it.
To install the Visual Basic Runtime files, click the Load VB 6.0 Runtime files button
Once the Visual Basic Runtime files have been reinstalled, you should no longer encounter the error message.
If that does not resolve the problem then reinstall ActiveX from the Software Library in Lotus Notes:
Open Lotus Notes, then open the Software Library by clicking the bookmark link.
If you don't have the Software Library bookmark, see document 16250 — How to add the Software Library database link to Lotus Notes for instructions on installing the Software library bookmark.
Click the Standard Software Package Installs icon.
Click By Package Name. This view will probably already be showing as it is the default view.
Scroll until you see the entry Internet Explorer 5 Packages and double click on it to open it.
Scroll until you see the ActiveX fix button then click on that button.
Close that page.
If that does not resolve your problem and you are getting the message while using a particular application try uninstalling and reinstalling that application. To reinstall the VB Runtime files from the Software Library using the Favorites portfolio:
Open the Software Library by single clicking the icon.
Select View from the menu bar.
Select Workstation from the drop down menu and select B y Title from the next drop down menu.
Scroll until you see the entry named Visual Basic Runtime Files and double-click it to open it.
To install the Visual Basic Runtime files, click the Load VB 5.0 Runtime files button.
Once the Visual Basic Runtime files have been reinstalled, you should no longer encounter the error message.
