To resolve any of these, select the most appropriate link below and follow the steps provided to resolve any of these errors.
Application Engine Jobs
Non Application Engine Jobs (such as SQR Reports)
Open the Process Scheduler. (Home>People Tools>Process Monitor> Inquire>Process Requests)
Click the Details link located at the end of the requests title bar.
Click the View Log/Trace link.
Enter your network login and password
Click the Message Log link.
Examine the full details of the error message. If the main part of the error message says deadlock or timeout then there may be a process running which is blocking this one. Your first step is to wait for ten minutes. During the wait clear your Internet cache. You must have only one browser window open when clearing your cache. For more information, see Eureka! document 16093 — How to clear the cache in Internet Explorer.
Do Not delete the process instance from the process monitor. The original process request is required to restart the process, after the issue has been identified and eliminated.
Restart the request by clicking the Details then Restart Request link. This must be done by the person who initiated the request. If the initiator does not have the option of restarting the request (it is grayed out) log a NorthStar ticket. Be sure to include the full error, full navigation paths and all criteria, to enable support staff to replicate your issue. For more information on NorthStar, see Eureka! Document 70001 — How to create a service ticket in NorthStar
If, after clearing your cache and restarting the process, you receive errors again examine the error in the message log following the steps as in (6) above.
If the error is different from the first error received, restart the process again. If the error is the same or the Restart option is grayed out, log a NorthStar ticket. Be sure to include the full error, full navigation paths and all criteria, to enable support staff to replicate your issue. For more information on NorthStar, see Eureka! Document 70001 — How to create a service ticket in NorthStar.
