The error message you are receiving
The device, \Ide\IdePort0, did not respond within the timeout period.
is most often caused by, a bad CD, a problem in one of the drive bays (CD-ROM or removeable hard drive), or your CD-ROM.
Shutdown and power-off the machine.
Disconnect all cords.
Make sure the device is properly seated and locked. On a laptop try removing it from the machine then reseating it. If you need help you can look at screenshots or download a user manual from the Eureka! document on Your New Laptop.
While you have the machine off, check all of the slides and locks, be sure each removeable device is firmly seated.
If this did not correct the problem then you will need open a NorthStar ticket to make an appointment for service. Be sure to include your contact phone number. Describe the problem in detail, especially the steps you took to try to correct the problem. You will be contacted by the appropriate party.
