Running a Migration Utility... vmover.ini

Document number: 29091

The message you are receiving Running a Migration Utility....... This utility will copy 3 files to your computer and launch a process locally to update this computer in preparation for the upcoming PEOPLESOFT domain migration and will take anywhere from 3 to 30 minutes to complete depending upon the speed of the machine and the number of updates required for this computer to successfully migrate to the PEOPLESOFT domain. This window will automatically close when the process is finished. You may minimize this window to continue working. Your machine may be slower while this process is running. Please do not close this window or logon to PEOPLESOFT until you are informed of your specific migration date. copy %logonserver%\netlogon\corp\*.* c:\ cd.. cd.. cd.. cd.. cd.. c: vmover /c /ini=vmover.ini is a script used to migrate your legacy PeopleSoft (CORP) or JDE (JDEMD1) domain environment to the new PeopleSoft domain environment (PEOPLESOFT).

The logon script looks for the file vmover.ini.  If it does not find the file then it runs the migration utility.  If you close the window or interupt the utility the migration may be corrupted and you may experience problems.  In most cases these problems can be solved by rebooting, and if that doesn't work running the script manually. See Eureka! document 69067 — How to manually migrate your user profile to your PEOPLESOFT account.
