Windows Scripting Host Error
If you get an error similar to: Windows Scripting Host Script: \\{long script name ending in .bs} Line: {number} Char: {number} Error: could not create object named "WScript.Shell". Code: {code #} Source" WScript.Create Object there may be an error in the script or there may be a problem with your windows scripting host.
Try a different machine. Find out if others are experiencing the same issue. If the problem is not specific to your machine, submit a NorthStar ticket.
Try reinstalling the Windows Scripting Host from the Software Library in Lotus Notes:
Either
Go directly to the Windows Scripting Host entry in the Software Library, or
Navigate through Lotus Notes as follows:
Open Lotus Notes, then open the Software Library by clicking the bookmark link.
You may need to look in your databases folder
for the Software library bookmark
.
If you don't have the Software Library bookmark see document 16250 — How to add the Software Library database link to Lotus Notes for instructions on installing the Software library bookmark.
Click the Standard Software Package Installs icon.
Scroll until you see the entry Windows Scripting Host and double click on it to open it.
Scroll down to the button " Windows Scripting Host"
Follow the instructions on the page to install the software. Be sure to install the correct software.
