Recalibrating the Palm touch screen

Document number: 39053

Once a month you should calibrate the touch screen. This is a process called "digitizing" for making sure that the software perceives the touch to the touch screen in the correct location. If your Palm seems to be launching the wrong selections despite careful tapping on the touch screen, the touch screen may need digitizing.

  1. Select Applications then Prefs (if you don't see that selection try selecting "All" in the upper right-hand corner.)

  2. In the upper right hand box select the drop down list, then select Digitizer.

  3. A star shaped picture will appear in one corner. It has a dot in the middle. Tap the point of the stylus on that dot (target).

  4. The star will move to different locations. Each time it moves tap once on the dot in the middle.

  5. The calibration screen will clear automatically when you are finished.
