If you get the Seagate Crystal Reports: Database Error
General SQL Server error: Check messages from the SQL Server. and the NorthStar client error StartPrintJob 534: Error detected by database DLL. or
The NorthStar client error The report file ps_* does not exist. Please contact your system administrator.
when trying to print certain NorthStar client tickets using the Print Service Ticket icon, you need to make sure that the newest versions of the NorthStar printing files are downloaded to your machine.
To solve this, follow these steps:
Launch NorthStar client.
Click on the File menu, then on Open, then Admin, and finally, on Technician...
Enter your employee ID number or name in the appropriate field and press { Enter} or click the Search button on the right side of the screen.
Double-click on your name.
On the Information tab, look for the checkbox next to Copy Print Files. Click on the checkbox so that an x appears in the box.
Close your Technician document.
Close NorthStar.
When asked if you want to save changes made to your Technician document, click Yes.
Relaunch NorthStar .
As you log in, you will receive the message There are new versions of the NorthStar printing files. Do you wish to download the files at this time? Click Yes.
There should be an indication that there are files downloading.
You should now be able to print all types of service tickets in NorthStar when clicking on the Print Service Tickets icon.
