If you are unable to print on a local printer in Windows NT 4.0, you may need to install the printer drivers located on the PeopleSoft network. Because the total install is close to 54MB, make sure you have enough disk space. You MUST be logged onto the PeopleSoft network for these steps to work.

To install Windows NT print drivers:

1. Click on Start button, then Settings, and then click on Printers.

2. The Printers window appears. If you have previously added this printer, delete its icon by clicking on it and pressing the { Del} key.

3. Double-click on the Add Printer icon.

4. Choose My Computer and then click on the Next button.

5. Click on the check box for LPT1 then click on the Next button.

6. Make appropriate choices in the Manufacturers: and Printers: fields and then click on the Next button.

7. Accept the default printer name or change it appropriately. Click on the Yes radio button to make this the default printer, and then click on the Next button.

8. Verify that Not Shared is chosen, then click on the Next button.

9. Verify that the Yes (recommended) radio button is chosen to print a test page, then click on the Finish button.

10. On the Files Needed window, type P:\build\ntfiles\I386 in the Copy files from: box and click OK.

 

The drivers will copy to your workstation. When installation has completed, a test page will print. After installing the drivers, you should be able to print in your applications.
