Cloning a connection entry in the Cisco VPN Client
The information below applies to legacy J.D. Edwards machines. Information about VPN on legacy PeopleSoft machines is available here.
If you do not have the icon on your desktop:
Click Start, Programs, Cisco Systems VPN Client.
Click VPN dialer or IPSec VPN dialer.
These steps are for Cisco version 3.xx. ( Click here for Cisco version 4.xx):
Client Options menu, select Clone Entry.... The Clone Connection Entry dialog appears.
Enter a name for the new connection entry in the field, copy the original entry and add NST to identify the new connection, click OK.
This will close the Clone Connection Entry dialog, and the new name will now appear in the Connection Entry list.
To configure the properties of this new connection entry, click Op tions.
In the drop down window that appears choose Properties....
Chose the Authentication Tab.
In the section Group Access Information update the Name: field, add NST to the end of the empsecure group without any spaces, e.g. empsecurenst
Note : Do not remove or edit the Password: field or the Confirm Password Field.
Cisco version 4.xx:
Highlight the connection entry you want to clone (or duplicate)
Select Connection Entries and choose Duplicate. The duplicate appears.
Right-click on the new, duplicate entry and choose Modify.
Rename the connection from xxx -duplicate to xxx -NST in the "Connection Entry" field.
In the "Authentication" tab, with the "Group Authentication" option selected, click into the "Name:" field and add the letters NST to the end of the entry (type the letters immediately after the name, without using any spaces, dashes, or other characters).
Click Save.
