How to install (or reinstall) the iPass client
If you need to install the iPass client, or reinstall the 3.2 client on your machine, click on the links below for the method of installation you want to use.

To request the iPass client software via SMS for installation or reinstallation, follow these steps:
Launch NorthStar and log in, if necessary. For more information about launching NorthStar, see Eureka! document 70001 — How to create a ticket in Northstar.
On the left side of the screen, click on the Log Service Ticket link.
On the contact screen, make sure the information is current and indicate how you would like to be contacted if there are any questions.
Click Next.
Choose Software Applications and click Next.
For "What application are you using?" choose SMS Software Installations.
For "What problem are you experiencing?" choose I need a software package delivered to my machine.
Enter your Operating System and Connection information.
In the Subject field, enter the name of the software package(s) you are requesting, and your machine name. (See Eureka! document 55002 — How to find out your computer's name to determine your machine's name.)
For example: "Please deliver the iPass 3.2/Cisco VPN client to my machine = PSMITH2022904.peoplesoft.com"
If you have any additional information to provide, or need additional space, type that information into the Description field.
Click Finish.
Your Northstar ticket has been submitted. When the software is ready for installation, you will see an
icon in the System Tray (by the clock in the lower right of the screen).

Install from the Software Library
To install or reinstall the iPass client software from the Software Library, follow these steps:
Open Lotus Notes, then open the Software Library by clicking the bookmark link.
You may need to look in your databases folder
for the Software library bookmark
.
If you don't have the Software Library bookmark see document 16250 — How to add the Software Library database link to Lotus Notes for instructions on installing the Software library bookmark.
Click the Standard Software Package Installs icon.
Scroll until you see the entry iPass Connect client version 3.2 (and Cisco 4.0.4 where needed) and double-click on it to open it.
Click on the button Install iPass 3.2 (and Cisco VPN 4.0.4 where needed).
The installation will take less than 2 minutes from a direct LAN connection, about 5 minutes over VPN, and 15 minutes on dial-up with a 26Kbps connection. A reboot is required ONLY if the Cisco VPN software needed to be installed. (You can delay the reboot until it is convenient for you to reboot your machine.)

Install directly from the network
To install the iPass client software directly from the network, follow these steps:
Click Start, Run. Paste in the following text: \\psh-dp-01\smspkgc$\JDE00095
Click OK.
After the new window opens, double-click on the ipasscisco.exe file.
The installation program installs iPass Connect version 3.2, and if you do not have any version of a Cisco VPN client installed, installs Cisco VPN client version 4.04. You see an entry for "iPass" and "Cisco VPN" within Start, Programs after the installation completes.

Request a remote/field installation
If you are unable to receive the SMS package for iPass/Cisco, or you cannot perform the network installation, you should log a ticket for assistance with the installation. To log a ticket for assistance, follow these steps:
Launch NorthStar and log in, if necessary. For more information about launching NorthStar, see Eureka! document 70001 — How to create a ticket in Northstar.
On the left side of the screen, click on the Log Service Ticket link.
On the contact screen, make sure the information is current and indicate how you would like to be contacted if there are any questions.
Click Next.
Choose Communications and click Next.
For "Which remote access application?" choose iPass.
For "What type of help you need?" choose I have an issue.
In the Subject field, enter "I need assistance installing the iPass client from a remote location."
If you have any additional information to provide, or need additional space, type that information into the Description field.
Click Finish.
Your request is submitted. You will receive an email with your iPass user name and password once your request is processed.
