ERROR: WIL Extender Error: 499: Unrecognised network error #53...

Document number: 55105

Note: The legacy RAS (dial-up networking) and PeopleSoft RAS Connection Manager (also known as PSRC or PSRCM) are in the process of being retired. To standardize dial-up access, the integrated PeopleSoft company is deploying iPass and VPN as the dial-up solution. For more information, see Eureka! document 54040 — iPass Frequently Asked Questions.

The difficulty you are experiencing is that after you dial into the network with PS RAS Connection Manager, you get the following error :

WIL Extender Error: 499: Unrecognised network error #53

wntAddDrive(@default,@default,"\\ machinename\netlogon","Z:",@false)

WinBatch 32 99G
WIL Version: 2.8 gbt

It is usually accompanied by the error

Unable to attach to \\ machinename\netlogon

In addition, your N: and P: drives are not mapping and the network logon script does NOT run.

Assuming you haven't changed locations (and phone numbers) since the last time you dialed in using PS RAS Connection Manager, you can use Dial-Up Networking to get into the network and your logon scripts will run successfully, without an error. Follow the steps in Eureka! document 50015 — How to access the network using RAS or Dial-Up Networking to RAS into the PeopleSoft network properly.
