Document number: 55108

Note: The legacy RAS (dial-up networking) and PeopleSoft RAS Connection Manager (also known as PSRC or PSRCM) are in the process of being retired. To standardize dial-up access, the integrated PeopleSoft company is deploying iPass and VPN as the dial-up solution. For more information, see Eureka! document 54040 — iPass Frequently Asked Questions.

If you get the PS RAS Connection Manager error You do not have appropriate license to use this functionality, you need to install the fix from the Software Library. Follow these steps:

  1. Open Lotus Notes, then open the Software Library by clicking the bookmark link.

  2. If you don't have the Software Library bookmark see document 16250 — How to add the Software Library database link to Lotus Notes for instructions on installing the Software library bookmark.

  3. Click the Standard Software Package Installs icon.

  4. Click By Package Name.  This view will probably already be showing as it is the default view.

  5. Scroll until you see the entry PeopleSoft RAS Connection Manager and double click on it to open it.

  6. Scroll down the page until you see the section for License Issue with PeopleSoft RAS Connection Manager.

  7. Follow the instructions in the section to install the software. Be sure to install the correct software - there are 2 different buttons - one for Windows NT machines and one for Windows 2000 machines.

  8. It may take a few minutes to install. Nothing may appear on your screen, but an icon will appear at the lower right-hand corner of your screen.

  9. You will be prompted to reboot your machine.

The error should no longer appear when you use PS RAS Connection Manager once you run this fix and reboot.
