SecurID (VPN) Token Return Instructions

Document number: 55123

PeopleSoft is currently being charged a license fee per SecurID token (also known as a "VPN token"). If you are not using the token issued to you by PeopleSoft, please return it so we may redeploy the token to others who need to access our network. If the token has been lost or stolen and you wish to replace it, see Eureka! document 55124 — Replacing a lost or stolen SecurID token. You will not be billed for a lost/stolen token. Recovering unused tokens saves PeopleSoft money because we do not have to purchase new tokens and licenses.

To return a token, you must open a ticket first. Then you can mail the token to the address below. To open a ticket, follow these steps:

  1. Launch NorthStar.
  2. On the left side of the screen, click Log Service Ticket.

  3. Enter your contact information and click Next.

  4. Choose Communications and click Next.

  5. Choose Remote Access and click Next.

  6. For the question "Which remote access application ?" choose Token.

  7. For the question "What type of help you need?" choose I want to return one.

  8. Enter the recipient's ID.
    • If it is your token you are returning, enter your ID.
    • If you are returning a token that belonged to someone else, enter their ID.

  9. In the Subject field, type Return SecurID token.

After you open the ticket, please mail your token (regular or interoffice mail) to the address below. Be sure to include your NorthStar ticket number in the package so that the return may be tracked properly. Use a method with which you may track the package. Also, keep track of your serial number, stamped on the back of the token. The address is:

PeopleSoft IT Infrastructure Management Services
1903 Rutan Drive
Livermore, CA 94550

If you are trying to replace a lost or stolen token, see Eureka! document 55124 — Replacing a lost or stolen SecurID token.
