If your VPN token is showing only flashing 8's on the display, it indicates a problem with your token. You need to request a replacement via NorthStar. To request a replacement, follow these steps:

  1. Launch NorthStar, and log in, if necessary.

  2. Click on the Log Service Ticket link on the left side of the screen.

  3. Verify the contact information on the next screen and click Next.

  4. Choose Communications on the next screen and click Next.

  5. Choose Remote Access and click Next.

  6. For the question Which remote access application? choose VPN.

  7. For the question What type of help you need? choose I want a replacement.

  8. Enter the recipient's ID.
    • If you are to be the recipient, enter your ID.
    • If you are making the request for another person, enter their ID.

  9. In the Subject field, state that you need a replacement VPN token because yours is showing flashing 8's.

  10. In the Description field, indicate the:
    • Asset tag number or serial number for the computer with which you wish to use VPN. Otherwise, your request may be delayed.
      • The PeopleSoft asset tag is on the lid or the bottom of the machine and has a number that starts "P10....."
      • If you are a legacy J.D. Edwards employee, just enter your serial number.
    • Name and address of the receiver if the token is to be mailed to a specific address.
      • If the token is to be mailed, it will be shipped via FED-EX 2-day mail service.
      • If you want to avoid a mandatory signature upon the delivery, specify this information in this field as well.

Note: It is preferable to have the token shipped to your PeopleSoft office for you to pick up, especially if you work at corporate.

Your request for a replacement VPN token is submitted. There is no department charge for a replacement token.
