How to move or copy files from one network drive to another network drive

You must have at least change or modify privileges to a network drive to move or delete files from that drive.

You can copy or move files from one network server to another the same way you would copy or move files from your computer to a network drive or vice versa. You may wish to copy the files to the new server, and then delete them from the old server. That way you won't lose any of the files if a problem occurs while you are moving them.

You may copy or move file one at a time, or entire folders and their entire contents (including any subfolders).

Make sure that each of the network drives is mapped. Map each network drive to a different letter on your computer. Do NOT use drive letters A:, C:, N:, P:, or Z:. Try to use any other unused letter. Choose the files you wish to copy or move on the old server and copy or move them to the new server.
