When you connect to your ISP, you are given an IP address by your ISP. However, once you tunnel into the PeopleSoft network, you are assigned another IP address that can be used by the WinVNC application for troubleshooting by Technical Support Operations or other IT group. To find this IP address, click on the version of Cisco VPN client software you are currently running:

Cisco version 3.x
Cisco version 4.0.1

Cisco version 4.0.1

To find your IP address for use with WinVNC:

  1. Make sure you have successfully logged into the PeopleSoft network via VPN.

  2. Once you are logged in, you should have a Cisco icon (small yellow padlock: VPN Connected) in your system tray (lower right-hand corner of your screen.)

  3. Right-click on the icon and choose S tatistics...

  4. The Statistics screen appears.

  5. On the Tunnel Details tab, under the Address Information section, your IP address for WinVNC purposes is the Client address of 10. x.x.x. Click on this icon for a sample screenshot: Cisco 4 IP Address

Report the Client IP address as your IP address while connected to the PeopleSoft network via VPN.
