Prompted with network password expiration multiple times

Document number: 55185

The difficulty you are experiencing is that when you log into a PeopleSoft computer you are prompted with the network logon message

Your password will expire in x days. Do you want to change it now?

even after you had changed your network password the day(s) before.

To solve this, follow these steps:

  1. Click No to the message.

  2. Log out of all machines on the network but one.
    • If possible, reboot or shut down those other machines. Do not log back into them yet.

  3. Press { Ctrl} + { Alt} + { Del} and change your network password on the one machine you are logged into.
  4. Reboot the machine you are using. This step is critical.

You should no longer receive the warning message. You can log back into your other machines.

  1. Make sure you have logged out of all other machines.

  2. Change the password one more time on the one machine you are using.

  3. Shut down that machine.

  4. Wait for at least 1 minute, then turn on the machine again and log into the network.

If you are still experiencing problems, please open a NorthStar ticket and report the issue, including all the steps you have already taken.
