How to add programs to the Start menu
You can add programs to your Start menu to make the programs easier to find and launch. Deciding how to add the program depends upon whether you want any control over exactly where on the Start menu the program should appear.
Add it to the top of the opening of the Start menu. (quick and easy)

Double-click on the My Computer icon on your Windows desktop.
Find the icon for your program by navigating to the correct dirve and directory.
Hold down the left mouse button and drag the icon to the start button. Release the mouse button.

Adding programs to the Start menu involves creating a shortcut for the program, then placing it in the appropriate location on the Start menu. It will be easier if you first familiarize yourself with the location of the program you want to add is stored on your machine.
Hold the { Ctrl} key and press { Esc}. The Start menu will pop out.
Select Settings and then Taskbar.
Select " Start Menu Programs" tab.
Select Add. A " Create Shortcut" window will appear.
Either:
Enter the full path of the program you wish to add or select, or
Select B rowse to search for the program you want to add.
A "Browse" window will appear. Navigate through the drives and folders to find the program.
When you find the program, double-click on it to select it. You will be returned to the "Create shortcut" window.
Click Next. A " Select Program Folder" window will appear.
Click the Start menu folder or subfolder where you want the program entry to appear. If you want the program entry to appear on the main programs folder, click the " Programs" folder. If you want it to appear in a subfolder click on the subfolder. If you want it to appear on the Start menu, click on " Start Menu"
Click Next. A " Select a Title for the Program" window will appear.
In the box under " Select a name for the shortcut" type a name as you want the item to be shown on the Start menu.
Click Finish. You will be returned to the Taskbar Properties window.
Click OK to close the Taskbar Properties window.
