Change color of background, menu bar, active or inactive title bars,

  1. Click the Start menu button and then select Settings and then Control Panel.

  2. In the Control Panel window double-click the Display icon.

  3. Select the Appearance tab.

  4. Select the Item: color to change. Open the Co lor: drop-down palette.

  5. Click on the desired color.

  6. Click OK to exit the Display Properties window.


Create a Custom Color

  1. Click the Other... button in the Color palette window to open the Color dialog box.

  2. Click any point on the color matrix to define a color.

  3. Adjust the color's red/green/blue attributes by moving the slider to the right of the matrix.

  4. Click OK on the Color dialog box to see preview the color in the Display Properties window..

  5. When you find the right color, click OK on the Display Properties window.

A new color has been created for the item showing in the Item: drop-down list.

 

How to change background pattern or wallpaper

  1. Click the Start menu button and then select Settings and then Control Panel.

  2. In the Control Panel window double-click the Display icon.

  3. Select the Background tab.

  4. In the " Select a background" field click on each file name to view. It may take a moment for the file to load so be sure to pause before going to the next file.

  5. Use the " Picture Display" selection to change whether the picture appears only in the center of the screen, is repeated multiple times to fill the screen, or is enlarged once to fill the screen.

  6. Click Apply.

  7. Click OK to exit the Display Properties window.

 

Screen saver

To change the Screen Saver:

  1. Click the Start menu button and then select Settings and then Control Panel.

  2. In the Control Panel window double-click the Display icon.

  3. Select the Screen Saver tab.

  4. In the " Screen Saver" field click on each file name, then click the Preview button to view. It may take a moment for the file to load so be sure to pause before going to the next file.

  5. The Settings button will be active if the screen saver you chose can be modified. Its something you just have to try..

  6. The password protected box means that if the keyboard or mouse are not used for the time set and the screen saver comes on then you will need to use your password to clear the screen saver and return to your work. Using this feature is highly recommended. The password is your normal network password.

  7. Change the Wait: box value to set how much time must elapse before the screen saver appears.

  8. Click Apply.

  9. Click OK to exit the Display Properties window.
