Windows makes your date and time settings available to other programs to use as defaults. You can change the format that Windows uses for the date and time. You must be an "Administrator" or "Power User" for the machine to change date or time settings. If you are on the machine issued to you then you should have Administrator privileges and you should be able to make any necessary changes. If you have any questions or concerns, contact Technical Support Operations before you change the settings.

Customize time or date formats   in Windows 2000.

The default formats of date and time should be as you have selected them for all Microsoft products; other programs may or may not accept the default formats provided by your Window selection. The available date and time formats depend upon your locale (country) settings. Customize date or time formats in Windows NT4.

1. Select Start menu, then Settings, then Control Panel.

2. Double-click on the Regional Settings icon to open it.   Note: The available choices will be influenced by your current locale as shown on the Regional Settings tab.

3. In the Regional Settings Properties window click on the Date tab.

4. Click on the down arrow to select the desired format from the drop down list.

5. Click on the Time tab then click on the down arrow to select the desired format from the drop down list.

6. Click on Apply.

• If an "Insert Disk" window opens then:

1. Click OK. A "Files needed" window will open.

2. In the " Copy files from:" box type p:\build\ntfiles\i386.

3. Click OK.

7. Click OK to close the Regional Setting Properties window.

Your date and time should show in the formats you selected.

3. In the Regional Options window click on the tab Date tab then click on the down arrow to select from the drop down list. 

4. Click on the Time tab  tab then click on the down arrow to select from the drop down list. 

5. Click on Apply.
